The NRA Basic Rifle course offers a comprehensive training program, combining classroom instruction with practical range time to master the art of rifle shooting. Students become proficient in the NRA’s safety protocols, gain a deep understanding of rifle components and operation, learn about ammunition, develop fundamental shooting techniques, familiarize themselves with range guidelines, and practice shooting from various positions including bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, and kneeling. Additionally, students will receive instruction on proper rifle cleaning techniques and have ongoing opportunities for skill refinement. Each student will be provided with the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, the NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and will undergo a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination. Upon completion, students will receive a course completion certificate, recognizing their accomplishment in this foundational rifle course.
